1967 - Uppsala Cathedral

Another historical building targeted for parcels

The future arrived in 1967 - eight completely new definitive stamps were issued and also a new kind of slot-machine booklet, one among these modern definitives was the stamp below - the red Uppsala Cathedral. The background is that the rate for domestic parcels, 3 - 5 kg, was raised to 4.50 kr in the beginning of 1967 and in March this new definitive stamp covering that rate was issued. The motif is the interior of the largest church in Sweden and it is the church of the Archbishop of Sweden as well.

The artist and the engraver was the same person, the master engraver himself: Czeslaw Slania.
